Saving Music Through Youth Around The World
Welcome to the Santiago Project, a collaboration that allows more students and educators access to all of the positives music education brings!
As much as we appreciate and value music all on its own, music education does so much more. It’s a path to learning, while also supporting healthy development and curiosity in young people.
The NAMM Foundation shares just a few of the ways music education can help students with their other academics:
Improves recall and retention of verbal information
Advances math achievement
Boosts reading and English language arts (ELA) skills
Increases average SAT scores
The National Association for Music Education shares an even longer list of the benefits of music in our schools, which addresses how music can help kids with their emotional development, stay engaged in school, and be more successful in society.
The Santiago Project was created to provide financial support and other resources for both students and educators.
Unfortunately, many music programs are being cut and music education can be expensive, making it financially out-of-reach for many families.
